Jerry Wayne Hughes, Sr. of Enterprise, AL passed away Friday, October 26, 2018 at his home.  He was 65.

Memorial services will be held at 5:00 PM, Monday, October 29, 2018 at Searcy Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with Rev. Mark Cooper officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 PM until service time.

Jerry worked in the grocery business for many years.  He was an artist and a political cartoonist. He was also a published author of short stories.  Most importantly, he was a good fisherman.

Mr. Hughes was preceded in death by his father, Roger Neil Hughes and a brother, Christopher Roscoe Hughes.

Survivors include his wife, Maggie Hughes, Enterprise, AL; daughter, Jessica Hughes Pair, Enterprise, AL; son, Jerry Wayne Hughes, Jr., Enterprise, AL; grandchildren, Collin James Pair and Rachel Lynn Pair; mother, Helen Hughes, Jacksonville, FL; brother, Frederick Neil Hughes (Blenda), Jacksonville, FL; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and special friends.
