She married Tommy Martin on January 15, 1955, and they settled in Dothan where they raised their children. She and her husband founded Faith Tabernacle Community Church in March 1980. She was the leader of the ladies group for many years, and a devoted Christian that loved her family and her extended church family.

Martin; their sons, Mike (Dawn) Martin, Faron Martin, Phillip (Michelle) Martin and Joel (Tracy) Martin all of Dothan, AL; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister Josephine (Jimmy) Christmas, Webb, AL; brother Roger Daughtry, Enterprise, AL; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece and caregiver Pam Daughtry.

She is preceded in death by her parents, three sisters Hazel White, Lurline White and Myrtle Norris; nephew Glennis Wood, niece Donna Jo Windham and a special daughter-in-law Nancy Martin.

Funeral services will be 10 am Wednesday March 5, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home with Rev. E. H. Haddock and Rev. Marcus Ramer officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 pm to 8 pm at the funeral home.

A special thanks to Covenant Hospice for all your loving care provided to our mother.
