Jewel Fay Parker Hidle, age 92, of Geneva, Alabama, passed away January 9, 2023.

 

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 12, 2023, in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Skidmore officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be held Thursday beginning at 10:00 a.m. and continue until service time.

 

She was born October 8, 1930 to the late Edward and Clara Johnston Parker, one of five daughters and two brothers in the family.  Fay graduated from Samson High School in 1949 and later that year married her high school sweetheart, Aubrey Hidle, Jr.  They had a true love story for the next 62 years.  They had four sons, Dennis, Douglas, Dallas and Daniel.  Her husband and her sons always knew she was the rock of the family.  Her love and care was always there for all of them. She made being a housewife and mother an art form.  She thought of everyone else first and never of herself.  She was simply the best person any of us have ever known.  We all adored her.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Aubrey Hidle, Jr., sons; Douglas and Dallas; grandson, Lee; two brothers; Grover and Obie Parker, sisters; Edna Suggs and Ruby Cooper.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to First Baptist Church, P O Box 579, Geneva, Al 36340.

 

Survivors include sons: Dennis and Daniel (Patti) Hidle, grandchildren; Kris Hidle, Colby (Kendall) Hidle; Jade Vaughan (Brant), Jody Spann (Catherine), Javin Spann (Emily) and Jordan Spann (Dallas) many nephews and nieces, and several great grandchildren; two sisters; Merle Woodham and June McDurmont; Cathryn Jones, her adopted daughter who cared for and loved her for the last 4 plus years.  We love you, Cathryn.

 

The family extends its sincerest appreciation and profound respect to the hospice staff of Southern Care for the care, comfort and attention rendered mom in her last months.  The family honors the tender care, the support and the love, Barbara Gonzalez, Karen Hawthorne, Quincella McIntyre, Casey Owen and Lindsay Richardson lavished upon our mom.  We in turn love you and thank you.   We also thank Faye Keeton for her service and friendship over the many years.
