Jewel Smith McNeil
Mrs. Jewel Smith McNeil a resident of Rehobeth, AL passed
away Wednesday July 20, 2022 at her home. She was 96.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 22, 2022 at 11:00
a.m. at Family First Funeral Care with Dr. Jeff Peacock
officiating. Visitation will be from 10:30-11:00 a.m. at Family
First Funeral Care Chapel.
Mrs. McNeil was born January 23, 1926 to Steve and
Martha Smith in Geneva County. She has lived in Houston
County for 96 years. Mrs. McNeil is a member of Corinth
Baptist Church. In 1944 Mrs. Jewel married the love of her life
Mr. Elmer McNeil and of this union they had two beautiful
daughters. Together this couple worked as a power team to
own and operate McNeil Sheet Metal Works from 1945-1985.
Mrs. McNeil was preceded in death by her mother and father;
Steve and Martha Smith, her husband; Elmer McNeil, her
brothers Hayward Smith and Herman Smith, and one sister;
Jeanette Smith Milborn.
She leaves to cherish her memories two daughters; Glenda
McNeil Powell (Rehobeth), Brenda (David) McNeil Bryant
(Dothan), Three grandchildren; Denice (Steve) Powell Papac
(Rehobeth), William David Bryant (Dothan), and Kristin (James)

Bryant Hall (Dothan). Six great-grandchildren; Shelby Blair
Papac, Ashleigh Claire Papac, Lacey Nichole Papac, (all of
Rehobeth), Teagan Curtis Bryant, Arin Emerson Hall, and
Rowan Saige Hall (all of Dothan)
Pallbearers: Terry McNeil, John Paul Kelly, Philip McArdle, David
Etheredge, Doug Messick and Jonathan McNeil.
