Jewell Dean Driggers Gray was born on October 26, 1943 in Geneva County, AL to the late Howard and Pearlie Mae Wood Driggers. She peacefully entered Heaven’s gate on Sunday, June 5, 2022.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Jim Mashburn officiating. Burial will follow in Leddon Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday beginning at 1:00 p.m.
The family ask that flowers be omitted, and memorial contributions be made in Mrs. Gray’s memory to Poplar Head Community Church, c/o Cindy Dady, 426 East Skyline Ave., Geneva, AL 36340.
A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and homemaker. Mrs. Gray was a remarkable cook who loved spending time with family, gardening and traveling. She was the loving wife to the late Terrell Lomax Gray for 42 years and worked together with him to manage a successful poultry business and raise two sons.
She is survived by her two sons, Scott (Donna) Gray and Jeff (Amy) Gray of Geneva, AL; siblings, Wendell Driggers, Truman (Lien) Driggers of Geneva, AL, Virginia (Harold) McDonald of Villa Rica, GA; five grandchildren, Brittany Gray, Maeleigh Gray, Peyton Gray, Max Gray, and Maggie Thompson of Geneva, AL; one great grandchild, Justyn Gray of Geneva, AL. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Terrell Lomax Gray; her parents, Howard and Pearlie Mae Wood Driggers; brother, Realous Driggers; and sister, Mary Driggers Commander.
We were truly blessed by God to have her for 78 years. She was a wonderful person who truly loved her family. We will cherish our memories and she will live on in our hearts until we meet again.
Serving as pallbearers will be Andrew Sumner, Jonathan Sumner, Jacob Sumner, Jordan Sumner, Mark McDonald, and Gary Hamm.
Honorary pallbearers will be Roger Mock, and J.D. Bacon.
The family would like to thank a special friend, Catherine Jones and SouthenCare Hospice for their devoted love and care.
