After moving to Enterprise, Alabama with his wife, Jim “Pops” LeMarr passed peacefully at home on Thursday, March 9, 2023 with his family by his side.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Meadowlawn Cemetery with Mr. Mark Swann officiating and Searcy Funeral Home & Crematory directing. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to DaySpring Hospice, 100 Professional Lane, Enterprise, AL 36330 or your favorite local charity.
Mr. LeMarr was born in Leslie, Arkansas in 1946 before his family moved to Frazysburg, Ohio. He was a 1964 graduate of Frazysburg High School. After graduating from Harding University, he was a teacher and coach in Zanesville, Ohio. Often referred to as Tractor Jim, after coaching, he began a career in sales in Peachtree City, Georgia, where he raised his daughters with his wife Sherry.
He is preceded in death by his father Rutherford LeMarr and his mother Helen LeMarr Wright.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sherry LeMarr; daughters Erin Whiteley of Peachtree City, GA, and Stephanie Lawson (SFC Patrick) of Enterprise, AL; three grandchildren, Grayson James Whiteley, Ava Victoria Whiteley, and Logan Dee Lawson; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
