Jimmie Frank Bond of Newton, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at his residence. He was 86.
Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Friday, August 25, 2017 at Pilgrim Home Baptist Church with Rev. Buddy Hood officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the church from 9-10 am prior to the service.
Mr. Bond was born on June 1, 1931 in the Bay Springs community and lived in Wicksburg most of his life. Following graduation from high school, he joined the United States Navy and served in the intelligence division. After his retirement in 1969, he operated a produce truck farm with his family until his recent retirement. He loved fishing with his wife in St. John's River and Lake Eufaula. He was a member of Pilgrim Home Baptist Church.
Mr. Bond was preceded in death by his brothers, Dexter Bond, John Bond and Joe Bond; his sisters, Edna Bond Thomley and Evelyn Bond Price; and a granddaughter, Adawna Faye Bond.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Willie Jo "Joey" Bond; sons, Jimmie Michael (Theresa) Bond, Ronald Keith (Barbara) Bond, Joel Douglas (Rebecca) Bond and Jerry Marx Bond; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Alacare Hospice for the care and support during Mr. Bond's recent illness.
