Jimmie Kevin Rhodes, known to most as just Jimmie, was a man who could fix anything, love anyone, and give everything. Born on November 13, 1968, in Dothan. He passed away on November 22, 2023, in Slocomb, after a long illness, proving once again that he was a man who never did anything halfway.
Jimmie was a mechanic by trade, but he was also a mechanic of the heart. He was always there to fix a broken toy, a broken car, or a broken spirit. He was a man who believed in the power of hard work, but he also believed in the power of love. He was a man who loved his family more than anything, and he showed it every day. He was a man who loved to eat, especially butternut cakes, which he claimed were the secret to his strength and longevity.
Jimmie was a man who loved to fish, listen to Kid Rock, watch races, and go hunting. He was a man who was stubborn, but he was also a man who was sweet. His wife, Susie, was his "Sunshine," and he was hers.
Jimmie was preceded in death by his dad, Jimmy Rhodes; his grammie, Susie Mae Woodham; his pappie, Travis Woodham; and his sister, Amy Melissa Rhodes.
Jimmie is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Susie Rhodes; his parents, Larry and Emma Cox; his children, Macy, Jonathan, Malisa, and Liddy; his grandchildren, McKenzie, Jaden, Jakyius, Iyanna, Kahlani, Zane, Ryker, and Blaine; and his sisters, Tammie Curran and Joy Rhodes.
In the end, Jimmie was a man who was handy, loving, and selfless. He was a man who could fix anything, love anyone, and give everything. He was a man who lived his life with the same stubborn determination that he used to root for Alabama Football. He was Jimmie, and he will be missed.
