Jimmy Loyd Caraway of Geneva Alabama, age 86 passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2022. 


Funeral services will be held at 12pm, Wednesday May 4, 2022 at Westside Methodist Church 1010 West Maple Ave, Geneva, Alabama with Rev. Donna Thompson officiating.  Visitation will begin at 11am until the time of service, 12pm.  Burial will be following service at Hartford City Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva directing. 


Jimmy was born in Dale County, AL on October 21, 1935 to the late Selma and Odelia (Skinner) Caraway.  He grew up in Oak Grove, AL. graduating from Geneva County High School, Hartford, AL in 1954.  He also was a Alabama National Guard Military Member. After Graduation moved to Owosso Michigan to work for General Motors Truck and Bus Assembly in Flint Michigan for 34 years. After retiring he came back to Alabama settling in Geneva. To enjoy his retirement with fishing, hunting and time with grandkids. 


In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Caraway and two daughters, Judith Guillory and Debbie Christie. Two Brothers, Billy Wayne Caraway and Eugene Caraway. one daughter-in-law Ruthie Caraway Two Sisters, Betty Sue Cox and Sarah Cox.


Jim is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda (Crandall) Caraway, 3 Sons: David Caraway, Corunna, MI; Richard Brandon (Lisa), Linden, MI; Buddy Brandon, Geneva, Al;  4 daughters: Connie Smith (Jay), Owosso, MI; Susan Frank (Jeff), Fort Meyers, Fl;  Crystal Schmitt (Matthew Burns), Vassar, MI;  Susan Elmore (Robert), Hartford, Al. One Daughter-in-law: Tammy Caraway, Tallulah, LA; his mother-in-law, Mary Crandall, Montrose ,MI 21 Grandchildren, 33 Great-Grandchildren and 4 Great-Great Grandchildren and a number of special nieces and nephews.


Serving as Pallbearers will be John Wayne Ryals, Rusty Cox, Randy Cox, Scotty Cox, Robert Elmore and Matthew Burns.
