Jimmy Nelson Taylor, Resident of Midland City, Passed away on July 2, 2019. He was 55. Funeral service will be at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Midland City with Reverend Frank Morris officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery with Sunset Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Jimmy was born on August 8, 1963 and grew up in Midland City, Alabama. He graduated in 1983 from Dale County High School where he enjoyed playing baseball, basketball, and football. After high school, he attended the Alabama Aviation College in Ozark. He then took a job working for King Appliances. Later he started working for King Church Furniture where he worked for 26 years. Mr. Jimmy was known for being active in his community and for being the “Community Entrepreneur”. He was a long-time member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Jimmy loved his family and adored being a “PaPa” to his two granddaughters. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Katie B. Taylor; and four of his sisters.
He is survived by his two sons, Jimmy O’Shawn Wesley (Andricka) and Marlon Maurice Wesley; two granddaughters, Brooklyn Wesley and Ashley Griffin; one brother, Willie Paul Taylor; and three sisters, Linda Brock (Willie), Elizabeth Morrison (Chris), and Mary Collins (Willie).
