Jimmy Ray Holland, age 84 of Slocomb died early Sunday morning, February 2, 2020 at his residence under the care of DaySpring Hospice and with his family by his side.


Funeral services for Mr. Holland will be held at 2pm Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at Bethesda Baptist Church with Pastor Carlisle Weed officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to service time at the church. In lieu of flowers the family request that contributions be made to help pay for the funeral expenses.


Mr. Holland was born December 21, 1935 in Houston County to the late Dee and Pearl Scott Holland. He lived in the Wiregrass his entire life and worked in residential construction.


In addition to his parents, Mr. Holland was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Dye Holland; a brother, Allan Holland and two sisters, Bernice Moss and Kathleen Jenkins. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Louise and Richard Alday of Ashford and Linda and Randy Hall of Rehobeth; two sons, James Dye and Bobby Dye, both of Rehobeth. Six grandchildren, Ashley Bass of Rehobeth, A.J. (Megan) Bass of Ashford, Samantha Bass, Ashford, Timothy Dye of Rehobeth, Aaron (Lauren) Hall of Hartford and Caleb Hall of Rehobeth. One great grandson, Henry Owen Bass of Ashford as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews also survive.
