NAPIER FIELD, ALABAMA…Jimmy W. Hicks, Sr. passed away on Friday, June 18, 2021 at Taylor County Health and Rehab located in Butler, Georgia. He was 70.
The services celebrating his life will be held at 4:00 PM Saturday, June 26, 2021, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Don Clark officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 4:00 P.M. Saturday in the mortuary chapel.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice Care Options, 306 N. Davis Dr. Ste C, Warner Robins, GA 31093.
Jimmy was born on January 26, 1951 in Ridley, California. He was preceded in death by his parents Mr. James Copeland Hicks & Mrs. Mabel Ruth (Sturdivant) West, and brother, David L. West. At an early age, Mr. Hicks planted his roots in the Alabama Wiregrass Area where he served as Chief of Police for the Dothan Regional Airport Police Department, from which he retired, and also the 1st ever Chief of Police to serve the town of Napier Field, Alabama. Jimmy enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, fishing, camping, gun ranges, and he was an avid Alabama Football fan. Roll Tide!
Left to cherish his memory is his sons, Danny Hicks (Amanda) of Perry, GA and Jimmy W. Hicks, Jr. of Newton, AL; ten grandchildren, Kimmie King (Brandon), Will Bratley, Zach Bratley, Matthew Hicks, AJ Bratley, Drew Hicks, Kade Hicks, Trey Hicks, Bristal Hicks, and Gabriel Graves; three great-grandchildren, Kaleigh King, Kandace King, and Brock King; his sister, Cathy McAbee (Dennis) of Dothan, AL; several nieces and nephews; life-long friend, Rita Alsabrook of LaGrange, GA.
