JIMMY “WADE” SHAVER
HEADLAND…Jimmy “Wade” Shaver, a resident of Headland, Alabama, passed away Thursday morning, July 8, 2021, at a Dothan hospital. He was 69.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday July 11, 2021 at Wright Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel with Reverend Joey Hudspeth officiating. Visitation will be 1:30 until 3:00 P.M. prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Wright Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to your favorite charity in Mr. Shaver’s honor.
Mr. Shaver was born on September 03, 1951 in Andalusia, Alabama to the late Cecil Hobson Shaver and Cornelia Ward Shaver. Mr. Shaver was a 1970 graduate of Dothan High School. He worked at the Dothan Country Club as the Assistant Superintendent Groundskeeper and retired after forty-seven years. He is a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Headland, Alabama. In his spare time, Mr. Shaver enjoyed building and woodworking activities. He was also a faithful servant and was very passionate about building and giving. One of his favorite sayings “Inspect the uninspected, only then you’ll know what to expect”.
Along with his parents, Mr. Shaver was preceded in death by his son, Clinton Wade Shaver and a brother, John Hobson Shaver.
Leaving to cherish his memories are his wife of 49 years, Annette Shaver; son Gabriel Ward Shaver (Michele) of Theodore, AL; two grandchildren, Kallen Shaver and Faith Shaver of Headland, AL; and several special friends.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Bobby McCoy, Ted McCoy, Eric Knight, Clay Aman, Thomas Ray and Terry Johnson.
