HEADLAND.. Joan Bostick, a resident of Headland, died Thursday afternoon, January 14, 2016, in a Dothan hospital. She was 80.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, January 16, 2016, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Dan Sheppard and Darden Kirby officiating. Burial will follow in the Balkum Cemetery, near Tumbleton. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the mortuary.
Ms. Bostick was a native of the Capps Community and was reared in the Tumbleton Community, daughter of the late Ezra Bostick and Donna Rush Jordan Bostick. She was a 1953 graduate of Newville High School. Ms. Bostick was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Headland. She was retired from the First Alabama Bank of Dothan as a teller. In earlier years, Ms. Bostick was employed by WestPoint Stevens in Abbeville. She was preceded in death by a sister, Imogene Stephens and two brothers, Yarbrough Bostick and Roger Bostick.
Surviving relatives include a son, Edward Earl Golden (Deni), Newville; a sister, Willa Dean Dykes, Dothan; and a grandson, Edward Matthew Golden (Aimee), Chattanooga, TN.
