Joan Harpe


 Abbeville….Joan Harpe, a resident of Abbeville, died Monday afternoon,  July 29, 2019, in a Dothan hospital. She was 74 years old.


            Services for Mrs. Joan Harpe will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2019, at 2:00 P.M., at Wright Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel with Pastor Sam Davis officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. before the service.  Wright Funeral Home & Crematory are in charge of arrangements.  


            Joan was born in Barbour County to the late John Paul Taylor and Dorothy Steed Taylor. She lived most of her adult lifetime in the Screamer Community and Abbeville area of Henry County. Joan was retired from the Henry County Board of Education, as a bus driver.


            Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made in her name to the SHARK (Safe Haven Animal Rescue & Kennel) P.O. Box 126  Abbeville, Alabama 36310.


            She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jesse T. Harpe; a son, Troy Barron; and a brother John Taylor.


            Surviving relatives include her daughter Tracy Barron, Abbeville; two sons, Todd Barron (Donna), Headland, Tim Barron (Margaret), Headland; a daughter-in-law, Donna B. Barron, Abbeville; six grandchildren, Josh McCoy (Savannah), Logan Shirah (Macey), Kalei Shirah, Haley Barron, Dillon Barron (Danielle), and Caleb Barron; three great-grandchildren, Fields McCoy, Sutton McCoy, and Krislee Shirah.
