OZARK. . .JoAnn Moring Parker, a resident of Ozark, died Sunday morning, March 27, 2016, in Westside Terrace, in Dothan. She was 73.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 29, 2016, in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, near Eufaula, with Reverend Richard Blevins, Reverend Woody Brown and Dr. Dorbia Moring officiating. Graveside services will follow in the church cemetery with Reverend Clyde Hancock, Jr. officiating. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M Monday at the mortuary in Abbeville.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Resource Center, P.O. Box 1170, Dothan, AL 36302.
Mrs. Parker was born and reared in Henry County, near Abbeville, daughter of the late Rufus Lee Moring and Mary Lucille Dasinger Moring. She was a 1961 graduate of Abbeville High School. Mrs. Parker formerly lived in the Screamer and the Richard’s Crossroads Communities before moving to Ozark in 2011. She was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Mrs. Parker was formerly employed by WalMart in Eufaula. She was preceded in death by a sister, Marie Moring.
Surviving relatives include her husband, Thomas Newton Parker, Ozark; four daughters, Lynda Parker, Abbeville; Denise Golden (Jeff), Dothan; Michele Mayo (Joey), Taylor; and Kim King (Sean), Headland; a son, Kent Parker (Teresa), Echo Community; two sisters, Patsy Ramsey (Robert), Warner Robins, GA; and Shirley Sanders, (Ronnie), Tumbleton Community; a brother, Dr. Dorbia Moring (Judy), Noel, Missouri; grandchildren, Lucas, Jeffery, Jesse, Loran, Jacob, Blake, Paxton, Justin, Ryan, Garrett, Tyler, Anna, Elijah, Shane and Hannah; three great-grandchildren.
