Jody Burkett of Enterprise,  AL passed away Sunday, February 21, 2021 at the age of 52.

  

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, February 26, 2021 in the Chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Paxton City Cemetery in Paxton, FL with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home directing.  Visitation will be held Thursday evening at the Funeral Home from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm.

Jody was born April 5, 1968 to Duncan Harry Burkett and Ruby Faye Melton Burkett.  He enjoyed working on his cars and was an excellent mechanic, simply enjoyed fast cars and was a very respectful young man.

Preceded in death by his mother; Ruby Faye Burkett; one brother; Tommy Burkett; Grandparents; Bert and Alice Burkett and Grant and Nancy Melton.

 

Survived by: Father; Duncan & Shelia Burkett, Samson, AL; two brothers; Toby Burkett (Cindy) Enterprise, AL; Daniel Carroll (Victoria) Jacksonville, NC; four sisters: Veronica Burkett Reeves (Anthony Turner) Ponce de Leon, FL; Jessica Douglas “Nicky” Mossy Head, FL; Jerrica Douglas Peacock Mossy Head, FL and Julie Williams (Charles) Samson, AL; a number of special nieces and nephews.

 

Pallbearers; Jerry Anderson, Randy Wayne Spires, Charles Williams, Ricky Burkett, Jimmy Harrison, and Cory Jackson.  Honorary Pallbearers; Josh Smith and Johnny Wilkinson.
