Joe E. Clark, Jr. of Elba, Alabama passed away Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Medical Center Enterprise in Enterprise, Alabama. He was 76.
The family will receive friends at Hayes Funeral Home on Sunday December 9, 2018 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Hayes Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at Hayes Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday December 9th beginning at 3:00 PM with Rev. Michael Woodham officiating with burial following in the New Brockton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Elba First Baptist Church.
Joe was born November 8, 1942, to the late Joe E. Clark Sr. and Hazel Busbee Clark in Enterprise, Alabama. He was a 1961 graduate of New Brockton High School. He attended Jacksonville State College. He retired after 20 years from Alabama Emergency Management. He retired from the Alabama Army National Guard as a Chief Warrant Officer 4 after 40 years 4 months and 15 days.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elmore and Lois Bailey Clark, Elba, Alabama and James Henry Busbee, Florala, Alabama and Ethel Lee Page Dick, Elba, Alabama.
Survivors include his wife, Gladys Wadonna (Donna) Pittman Clark; daughter, Rhonda Regina (Steve) Smith, Midlothian, Texas, and grandchildren Daniel Mark (Keri), David Chad (Alex), Asha Arlena, Mellie Margaret, and Clark Joe; daughter - Stacey Page Clark (Rick Stacy), Colorado Springs, Colorado, and grandchildren Chance Christopher Smith, Megan Brittany (Jason) Anable, Destiny Rowan Hage, Brea Summer Hage, daughter, Gina Aileen (Tim) Hurry, Birmingham, Alabama, and grandchildren, Katheryn Taylor, John Michael and Caroline Elizabeth; son, Joe Clark, III, (Becca), Babbie and grandchildren Thomas Jackson Clark, Hunner and Dalton Byrd, Katie Valentine (John), Autumn Jeffers, and Tyler Jeffers. He also leaves behind 3 Great granddaughters, a Great grandson and a sister, Cheryl Lynn Clark (Dan Gotheridge) of Vernon, Florida.
Joe was a member of the Baptist Church. He was the Camp Commander of Camp #911 Coffee County Rangers, Sons of Confederate Veterans and Southeast Brigade Commander of the Alabama Division Sons of Confederate Veterans for 10 years. He served as Commander of the Chaplain Stephen A. Pilley Chapter #302 Military Order of Stars and Bars, Alabama Society, Troy, Alabama. He was also a member of the American Legion Culver Post 42.
