John Barry Beasley, 65, of North Augusta, SC, formerly of Dothan went home to heaven on Monday, February 27, 2012.
Funeral services will be held 2 pm Friday, March 2, 2012 in the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jerry Hall, Chaplain Fred McGuffin and Dr. Jim Lilly officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 pm Thursday.
John was born November 5, 1946 in Colorado City, TX but was a resident of Dothan, AL for 20 years prior to moving to North Augusta, SC. He worked as a butcher for Super Sav in Ozark and then worked at The Cellar in Dothan prior to retiring 3 years ago. John loved his family, military history, traveling, and reading, but most of all he loved the Lord Jesus Christ and knew that his final Home was Heaven.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John & Francis Beasley of Alvin, TX, mother in law Marguerite McGuffin of Ozark, brother in law Frank Dyson of Alvin, TX and nephew Frank Dyson Jr. of Alvin, TX.
He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Susan McGuffin Beasley, sisters Barbara Beasley Dyson of Alvin, TX and Linda (David) Beasley Clawson of Pearland, TX, brother in law Navy Chaplain Fred (Wanda) McGuffin of New Orleans, LA, father in law Fred J. (Annette) McGuffin of Ozark. Several nieces and nephews, Jeremy (Kathryn) McGuffin of Yuba City, CA, Kristen (James) McGuffin Richardson of Bartlett, TN, Denise (Bill) Hendrix, Derek Dyson, Christi Peterson all of Alvin, TX, Scott (Marissa) Clawson, and Steven (Kim) Clawson all of Pearland, TX. Great nieces, Reya and Rylie McGuffin, Kara and Emma Richardson, Nicole Dyson, Kelli Dyson, Brooke and Abigail Peterson, Michelle and Emily Grace Clawson, and Callie Clawson. Great nephews, Ian McGuffin, Joshua, Andrew and Matthew Hendrix, Justin Dyson, Travis and William Dyson, Scott Jr and Keith Clawson, Micheal and Cameron Clawson; one great-great niece, Kennedy Shae.
