DOTHAN….John Bowman (Bo) Gary, (Major, Army National Guard, Retired), a resident of Dothan, formerly of Midland City, died early Monday morning, December 1, 2014, in Panama City, Florida. He was 66.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Wednesday, December 3, 2014, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel, with Pastor Van Gauthe officiating. Graveside services, with full military honors, will follow in the Midland City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:30 P.M. Wednesday at the mortuary in Headland.
A resident of Dothan since 2003, Mr. Gary lived in Midland City most of his lifetime. He was the son of the late Charles M. (Nook) Gary and Girlie McClenny Gary. Mr. Gary was a graduate of the Dale County High School and attended the University of Alabama. He was retired as a Major from the Army National Guard in the Ozark unit. Mr. Gary was also self-employed as a partner in the operation of Gary Mercantile in Midland City. He was of the Methodist faith and was affiliated with Harvest Church.
Surviving relatives include a daughter, Nicole Gary Reina (John), Pembroke Pines, FL; three sons, Scott Gary (Jamie), Panama City, FL; Brandon Gary and Derek Gary, both of Dothan; a brother, Charles W. (Chic) Gary (Cindy), Midland City; two grandchildren, Natalie Reina and Catalina Reina; a former wife, Mary Beth Gary, Dothan.
