John Theodore Devlin, age 87, a resident of Abbeville, Alabama passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

John was born April 23, 1934, in Chicago, Illinois to the late George Devlin and Nell Elizabeth Spann Devlin. He was a Veteran of the United States Army where he proudly served as an E-4 Corporal. He was an American Legion member. John loved his family and being able to spend time with them as much as possible. John was of the Catholic faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Theresa Ann Neal.

Survivors include his loving wife, Jacqueline Mattes Devlin; three sons, Michael Andrew Gurdak (Beth) of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, Steve Martin Gurdak (Karen) of Ingleside, Illinois, Jeffrey Devlin of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; two daughters, Janet Franecki (Jim) of Miwaukee, Wisconsin and Sharon Walsh (Edward) of Rhode Island; eight grandchildren, Krysten Gurdak, Michael Gurdak, Chyenne Gurdak, Tehya Gurdak, Jake Zajdel, Nicholas Zajdel, Jacqueline Walsh, and Natalie Walsh.
