John-Dylan Austin Ingram of Samson, Alabama went home to rest peacefully with his heavenly Father Tuesday, May 13, 2014. He was 13.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 15, 2014, at the First Baptist Church in Samson with Rev. Duane Hicks, Rev. Sam Totten and Rev. Donnie Earles officiating. Burial will follow in the Travelers Rest Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory of Geneva directing. John-Dylan will be placed into the church one hour prior to service time. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, May 14, 2014, from 6 until 8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family asked that memorial contributions be made to the Children’s Hospital, 1600 Seventh Ave., South, Birmingham, AL 35233 or the Samson High School Athletic Department, 209 N. Broad St., Samson, AL 36477.
John-Dylan was born December 20, 2000, in Houston County, Alabama. He enjoyed a variety of sports; hunting, fishing, and playing football, at which he excelled, but he dearly loved golf. He loved school and very rarely ever missed a day. John-Dylan had a very sweet and loving spirit with a smile that was contagious. He loved his brother, Coy, unconditionally and he was his best “buddy”.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Lavon Pickron, John Delmar and Judy Faye Sego Ingram, great-grandparents: Henry Pickron, Walter Richard, Sr. and Lois Florene Sego, Delmar Leroy and Edith Ingram and Lula Belle Radney; aunt, Stephanie Pickron.
Survivors include his parents, Joshua and Samantha Ingram; brother, Coy David Ingram, all of Samson; grandmother, Myra Radney, Kinston; great-grandparents, Alcus Radney, Kinston, Edward and Sally Maraman, Florala; several special aunts, uncles, cousins and other extended family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Blake Benton, Colby Meeks, Matt Odom, Shane Sheffield, Colby Sheffield and Matthew Revels.
His seventh grade class at Samson Middle School will serve as honorary pallbearers.
