A celebration of John’s life will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Goldsmith officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5-7 pm.
John Earnest Beck, III, a resident of Navarre, Florida, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 following an extended illness. He was 50 years old.
John was born on May 12, 1972 in Tampa, Florida and lived the early years of his life in Biloxi, Mississippi and Houston, Texas. He would move from Houston, Texas to Wicksburg, Alabama where he graduated from Wicksburg High School in 1990. John enlisted in the United States Air Force and proudly served on active duty from 1991-1995 as a crew chief on C-130 planes. He served in the Air Force Reserve for 20 years before he retired in 2013. Following his military career, John worked with Civil Service as Quality Assurance working at Keesler Air Force Base, with NASA in New Orleans, LA, Belle Helicopter in Ozark, Alabama, Industrial Specialist at Eglin Air Force Base. John was really a kid at heart, he loved sports, especially with his children. He was a referee at their basketball games in the Wiregrass Area. He managed Circle City BMX at Westgate and traveled throughout the Southeast with his children racing on the circuit. John enjoyed playing video games and could be found at home singing karaoke to his favorite tunes like, Simple Man.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Amy Beck; his son, Jordan Beck; his daughter, Olivia “Lolly” Beck; his mother, Dy’Adra Medlen; and his sister and brother-in-law, Stephanie and Matthew Mitchell; and his mother-in-law Diana Baron.
