DOTHAN…John Frank Hudgens, a resident of Dothan, died Thursday afternoon, January 14, 2021, in a Cumming, GA hospital. He was 91.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M. (CST) Monday, January 18, 2021, in Gardens of Memory, between Dothan and Headland, with Reverend Allie Freeman officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends following the service. Social distancing and mask guidelines will be observed.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Dothan, 1380 West Main Street, Dothan, AL 36301.
Mr. Hudgens was born and reared in Pinckard, son of the late John Fletcher Hudgens and Caroline Thomas Hudgens. He was a graduate of Dothan High School and served his country in the United States Army. Mr. Hudgens earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Troy University and later retired as a Pharmaceutical Representative from Lederle Laboratories (Pfizer), where he won several awards as a leading salesman. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Dothan and was a member of the Pathfinders Sunday School Class. He was also a member of the Dothan Elks Lodge 1887. Mr. Hudgens will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Tommie Ann Harris Hudgens; two daughters, Kathleen Dyar (Ben), Arley, AL; and Beth Hudgens Massey (Paul), Gainesville, GA; four grandchildren, Ashlyn Dyar, Sarah Dyar, Catharine Massey Wadkins (Jacob) and Abbie Massey.
