HEADLAND. . .John Haywood White, a resident of Headland, died on Lake Eufaula while fishing with his friends. He was 54.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 11, 2018, in the Worship Center of the First Baptist Church of Headland with Dr. Cecil M. Sanders, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 5:30 until 8:30 P.M. Tuesday at the mortuary.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Screamer Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 489, Abbeville, AL 36310
John White was a lifelong resident of Headland and a 1982 graduate of Houston Academy. He was self-employed as a Lawn Care Professional and was formerly employed by Murphy Oil Company in Abbeville. John attended the First Baptist Church of Headland. He was preceded in death by his father, Joe White.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Beth Cooley White; two sons, Cody White and Caleb White, all of Headland; his mother, Elizabeth G. “Priss” White, Panama City Beach, Florida; a sister, Georgiana Faulk (Greg), Headland; nieces, Anna Kate Faulk, Angie Desmond (Sean) and Jessica Edmondson (Roger Lee), nephews, Billy Faulk (Rachel) and Matt Davis; mother-in-law, Donnie Fay Cooley, sisters-in-law, Pam Holley (Ben) and Lisa Davis (Mark); several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Clark Parker, Tom Brannon, William Parker, Scott Whitaker, Josh Bush and Don McGriff. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Mattox, Tim Taylor, Marty Marshall, Wayne Skeen, Chris Cureton, Rufus Pearson, Shorty Johnson, Homer C. Reeves, Joey Armstrong, Kent Scott, Spence Danzey, Jason Harris and Mark Murphy.
