John Nicholas Reiser, Jr., 78, a resident of Dothan died peacefully in his home on July 4, 2015 following an extended illness.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30am Wednesday July 8, 2015 at St. Columba Catholic Church Chapel with Father Patrick Gallagher officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. There will be a Rosary Service held at 6pm Tuesday at Sunset Funeral Home and the family will receive friends following the Rosary. At other times the family will be at 213 Corey Drive, Dothan, Alabama.
Mr. Reiser was a native of Mobile, Alabama and he served in the United States Air Force from 1955 – 1960. He moved to the Wiregrass in 1965 where he worked with Radar Maintenance at Ft. Rucker until his retirement in 1995. Mr. Reiser was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church and he was very active member of the Knights of Columbus where he held the highest office as State Deputy from 1996 – 1998. Mr. Reiser preceded in death by his parents John Nicholas Reiser, Sr. and Agnes Lyndall Reiser.
Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Minnie Reiser; his daughter, Angela (to whom he devoted his life); his son, Michael (Charlene) Reiser; two grandchildren, Krysten Reiser, Brittany (Brian) Sanders; two great-grandchildren, Rachel and Macie Sanders; a brother, Joseph (June) Reiser of Mobile; several nieces and nephews.
Serving as active pallbearers will be the Knights of Columbus.
