DOTHAN. . .John Pabon Velazquez, a resident of Dothan, died early Sunday morning, October 29, 2023, at Westside Terrace in Dothan. He was 81.
Memorial services with family and friends will be held at a later date. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.
John Velazquez was born in Loiza, Puerto Rico and moved with his family to Gary, Indiana at the age of seven. He lived in Gary, Indiana, Merrillville, Indiana and Mesa, Arizona before moving to Dothan. John lived in Somerset Assisted Living for three years prior to moving to Westside Terrace. He was formerly employed by Dothan Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram as a Sales Associate and Manager. John attended Harvest Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Juan and Mercedes Pabon Velazquez.
Surviving relatives include his sons, John “Johnny” Velazquez of Merrillville, Indiana; Sergio Velazquez of Mesa, Arizona; and Maxwell Velazquez of Mesa, Arizona; a sister, Ana Kenefick, Gulf Stream, FL; a brother, Dino Velazquez (Ann), Headland; grandchildren, Emma Velazquez and Johnny Velazquez; nieces and nephews living in this area: a niece, Laura Suckey (Troy) and their two children of Headland; nephews, Matt Milanowski (Dana) and their three children of Headland; Ted Milanowski (Haley) and their two children of Dothan; and two other nieces, Kristin Velazquez Ross (John) and one son of Chicago, Illinois; and Karin Velazquez Basil (Andy), La Jolla, California.
