John Ray Hinthorne 66, of Ft. Gaines passed away Tuesday Jan. 29, 2019 at his residence. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, January 31, 2019 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be conducted at a later date in his home town of El Paso, IL.


 John was born on October 9, 1952 in El Paso, IL the son of the late Laurence “Bud” Hinthorne and Viola Scott Hinthorne. He was retired as operations manager for McElroy Metal for 7 years, employed with American Building Co. as plant manager for 35 years and a member of the Baptist Faith.


 Survivors include his wife, Karlene Lindsey Hinthorne of Ft. Gaines, his mother, Viola Scott Hinthorne of Roanoke, IL, 6 children, Elizabeth “Beth” Diane (Jason) Smith of Sellersburg, IN, Brent William (Tana) Hinthorne of Winchester, IL, Andrea Lynn Evans of Burkeville, VA, Gina Marie Hinthorne of Scottsdale, AZ, Dana Taylor (John Everett) Pate of Georgetown, GA and April Taylor (Richard) Baggett of Georgetown, GA,  3 brothers, Jim Hinthorne of El Paso, IL, Harry (Debbie) Hinthorne of Bloomington, IL and Jeff (Diane) Hinthorne of El Paso, IL, 3 sisters, Ruth Rutledge of Roanoke, IL, Pat Blue of El Paso, IL and Janet (Randy) Pomeranke of Roanoke, IL, 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.


 Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children 2900 North Rocky Point Drive Tampa, Fl. 33607
