Mr. John William Tillman of Coffee Springs, AL passed away on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 in Dothan, AL at Encompass Rehabilitation Hospital after an extended illness. He was 87 years old.

 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 23, 2022 in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva, AL. The services will be conducted by his grandsons Dr. Kaleb Wimberly and Jake Wimberly.

Burial will follow in the Mount Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home of Geneva, AL directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday beginning at 1:00 p.m.

 

John was born in Geneva County, AL on August 3, 1934 to the late Elmer and Ruby Tillman. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.  

John loved cows and going to cow sales, Auburn Football and Atlanta Braves baseball. Most of all, he loved his family.

  

John is survived by his wife, Eleanor Weeks Tillman; son, Ricky John Tillman (Traci); daughter, Judy Tillman Shehee (Mike); one sister, Yuvette Rials (Sonny); two grandsons, Kaleb Tillman Wimberly (Lindsay) and Jacob John Wimberly; eight great- grandchildren,

John David, Eli, Tillman, Warren, Charlee, Selah, Owen, and Kallin.  He leaves behind a special nephew, Matt Rials and his son, Hunter and a  niece,  Aimee Rials.
