Johnnie Faye Early of Dothan and formerly of Samson passed away at Flowers Hospital after a brief illness on April 9, 2016. She was 84. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 13, 2016, at the First Baptist Church of Samson with Rev. Sam Totten officiating. Burial will follow at Earlytown Church of Christ Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Samson directing. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday one hour prior to the service.


Mrs. Early was born in Geneva on January 1, 1932, to the late John and Vera Powell Hornsby. She was also preceded in death by her brother, John Henry Hornsby.


She is survived by her husband of sixty-seven years, Ellis Early of Dothan; two sons, Steve Early (Barbara) of Athens, AL and Mitch Early (Kathi) of Dothan; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Nellie Vee Nichols (Bob) of New Orleans, LA and Marie Mahon of Panama City, FL.
