Johnny Benjamin "Benny" Turner
Mr. Johnny Benjamin “Benny” Turner of Skipperville passed away Saturday, June 13, 2020, at the Southeast Alabama Medical Center. He was 68.
Born January 12, 1952, in Ozark to Elwood Junior “E.J.” Turner and Martha Frances Tyler Turner he had remained a lifelong resident of the Skipperville and Blue Springs community; and was a longtime poultry grower. He loved spending time with his family and one of his most favorite pastimes was to sit on the locally famous "old wooden bench" at the Marathon Gas Station downtown Clio and talk to whoever came by.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, June 15, 2020, at the Skipperville Community Cemetery. Rev. Randy Adams will officiate. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Skipperville Community Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 214, Skipperville, AL 36374.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Chris Turner. Survivors include a son, Tyler Turner of Skipperville; sisters, Lana Turner Rogers (Robert) of Louisville and Lesli Turner Vance (Ted) of Louisville; 3 nieces, Kendra Rogers, Ali Carpenter, and Brittany Merritt; several great-nieces and nephews.
Keahey Funeral Home of Clio is entrusted with arrangements.
