Johnny Craig Snell of Hartford, Alabama, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2024 in Birmingham, Alabama. He was 69 years old.
Craig was born on November 4, 1954, in Dothan, Alabama, to the late Ray and Blondell Snell. Craig worked in sales. He retired from Camping World in Dothan.
In earlier years he enjoyed hunting, water sports, and golf. He loved motorcycles and participated in many fund-raiser poker runs. He and his wife enjoyed fishing together.
He loved his wife, his family, and his friends. He enjoyed going to church and having a church family.
Craig was a giving man. He loved to help people in need. When Hurricane Michael came through he bought a generator and gave to Holmes County to use where needed, while doing without electricity himself.
He was an animal lover. He loved his dogs George and Ranger. He always spoiled them with food and treats.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Wanda Snell.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, February 26, 2024 at Oak Grove Pentecostal Ministries with Rev. Tracy Hobbs officiating. Burial will follow in the Hartford City Cemetery under the direction of Shelby Lett of Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home. The family will begin receiving friends at the church at 2:00 p.m. until service time.
Survivors include his wife, Dianne Snell of Hartford; son, Drew (Tasha) of Geneva; bonus children, Albert Daum of Dothan, Katie Hobbs (Clay) of Black, and Becky Williamson (Troy) of Fairhope; grandchildren, Andrew (Ashton), Dylan, Ryder, Nathan, Ally, Tyler (Cheyenne), Eli, Abby, Andrew, and Alayna; great grandson, Roan; sister, Ginger Brannon (Richard) of Hartford; brother-in-law, Jerome Lindsay (Donna) and Christy Gilley both of Hartford; nieces and nephews, Khris Ballard (Ben), Rich Brannon (Jo), Amanda Morgan (Jonathan), Landon Lindsay (Sydney), Lindsay Allgood (Tyler), Bryce Gilley and Brayden Gilley; along with a host of cousins and many friends.
