Johnny Faye Tallent Brewer, 70, of Kinsey, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2016, at her residence, after a lengthy illness.

Born in Harriman, TN, on September 6, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Virgil Lee Tallent, Sr, and the late Minnie Faye Strickland Tallent. She was a graduate of Ellisville High School in Mississippi. She was also preceded in death by a brother Jimmy Tallent, sisters, Meada Nicholson and Debra Pullin, a brother, Leon Tallent, father and mother-in-law, Boyd and Wilma Brewer, and a brother-in-law, Leon Hammond.

Mrs. Brewer had been a resident of Kinsey for the past 10 years. When she moved to Kinsey, she was retired from work as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant at Premiere Eye Clinic, Pascagoula, MS and as a Certified Ophthalmic Technician at Southern Eye Center, Mississippi Gulf Coast. Mrs. Brewer was a member of Southside Baptist Church of Dothan, AL.

The visitation for Mrs. Brewer will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2016, from 10:00 am until 11:30 am at Sunset Memorial Park, Funeral Home and Crematory in Dothan, AL. The funeral will follow in the funeral home chapel at 11:30 am with Bro. Stacy Stafford and Bro. Billy Rich officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church, 423 E Cottonwood Rd, Dothan, AL 36301.

Mrs. Brewer's survivors include her husband of 52 years, Julian "Latrelle" Brewer, daughter and son-in-law, Sherri and Jim Winingham of Slocomb, AL, granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Katie and James Davis who are expecting Mrs. Brewer's first great-grandchild, Dothan, AL, twin grandsons, Garrett Kelley and Gunner Kelley, grand-dogs, Carl and Dixie Margaret all of Slocomb, AL, Son, Jeff Brewer and granddaughters, Lanah and Reese Brewer all of Dothan, AL; siblings, Joyce Hammond of Hurley, MS, David and Jamesetta Tallent, Ocean Springs, MS, Mary Jeanne and Lester Godwin, Lilburn, Ga, Ann and Darryl Brown, Biloxi, MS, Lee and Donna Tallent, Lawrenceville, Ga, and Leo and Patty Tallent, Pascagoula, MS; In-laws, Glyn and Mary Nell Brewer, Three Rivers, MS, Larry and Kathy Brewer, Ellisville, MS, Linda Tallent, Kingsland, GA, and numerous nieces and nephews.
