Johnny Giddens, 65, a resident of Dothan passed away Sunday, September 7, 2014 at his residence.
Funeral services will be 2pm Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at Little Vine Primitive Baptist Church with Elders Paul Evans and Roger McDonald officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 1-2pm prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Giddens was born August 12, 1949 in Moultrie, GA and spent the early part of his life in Sylvester, GA. He was a 1967 graduate of Tift County High School and was employed with the Tifton Police Department for several years. He was later employed with Red Lobster Restaurant in Orlando and at the time of his illness he had been working for Lance Distributing for 8 years. Johnny has been living in Dothan for the past 8 years and resided in Panama City prior to moving here. He was a member of Little Vine Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife Melanie Giddens; a daughter Ginger (Mark) Woods; sons, Mark Giddens and Bryan Giddens; 4 grandchildren; brothers, Farrell (Reba) Giddens and Winfred Giddens; sisters, Monteen (Kater) Hampton, Margie (Charles) Shepard, and Janice (Roger) McDonald; several nieces and nephews.
Serving as active pallbearers will be Brandon Sanders, Michael Senkbeil, Scott Smith, Ricky Purvis, and Chad Hilson.
