Johnny Haynes, Sr., 61, a resident of Midland City, passed away at a local hospital on May 18, 2016.


Funeral Services will be 2 pm, Monday May 23, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home with Henry Hayes officiating. The family will receive friends 1-2 prior to the service. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing.


Johnny was born in Dothan, Alabama on October 14, 1954 and lived in Midland City most of his life. He was a 1973 graduate of Dale County High School and was employed with service machine as quality control inspector. He was an avid gun smith and enjoyed working on all types of pistols, shotguns, and rifles. He was preceded by his parents Robert Haynes and Margaret Haynes and a daughter Erin Haynes. Survivors include his son Stephen (Tammy) Haynes; his daughter Leigh Haynes; 7 grandchildren Phillip Culp, Addison Culp, Gunner Miller, Kelly Weathers, Bo Bailey, John Stephen Haynes III, Bryan Haynes; his brothers, Bob (Judy) Haynes, Henry (Margie) Haynes, Tommy (Vickie) Haynes; several nieces and nephews Jody and Julie, Brook and Leslie, Ashley and Clifford.
