Johnny Lee Flowers, 61, a resident of Midland City passed away at his residence Sunday, June 3, 2012.
Funeral services will be 10 am Saturday, June 9, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home with Rev. Donnivan Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Friday at the funeral home.
Johnny Lee Flowers was born December 19, 1950 to the late Sandy Flowers, Sr. and Jeanette Taylor in Midland City, AL. Johnny was educated at Mack M. Matthews High School in Pinckard, AL. He joined the U.S. Army, after serving his term he relocated to Trenton, New Jersey, his last place of employment was with the county of New Jersey, until his health began to decline and he moved back to Midland City, Alabama, until the Lord called him home to rest.
Mr. Flowers was preceded in death by his mother Jeanette Taylor, his father Sandy Flowers, Sr., and his step-mother Gussie Flowers. He leaves to cherish his memories five brothers, Robert (Snowdie) Jones of Midland City, Alabama, Sandy (Sandra) Flowers, Jr. of Williamstown, New Jersey, Bryant (Verna) Flowers of Charlotte, North Carolina, Maurice and Craig Flowers of Trenton, New Jersey; three sisters, Maurine (James) Bigham of Midland City, Alabama, Carla Flowers of North Carolina, and Marcia Gladden of Trenton, New Jersey; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends also survive.
