Mr. Johnny Mack Paul of Brinson, Georgia, and Samson, Alabama passed away Tuesday, December 2, 2014. He was 69.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 4, 2014, in the Samson First Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Kenny Johnson and Rev. Billy Joe Glover officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 10:00 a.m. and continue until service time.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children.
Mr. Paul was born October 9, 1945, in Geneva County, Alabama to the late Ondruss Willard and Willie Norton Glover Paul. He was a Shriner and worked extensively with the Shriners Hospital for Children. He thoroughly enjoyed driving the children to the hospital and being a part of their treatment and recovery. Johnny Mack was an accomplished bass guitar player and was an avid Alabama “Roll Tide” fan. For a number of years he was a salesman for Liberty National Life Insurance Company.
Survivors include one son, Jay Paul of Dothan; one daughter, Nikki Paul of Hartford; aunts and uncles: Robert (Sarah) Paul, Janatious (Mary) Paul, Coonie Newsome, Rev. Billy Joe (Nancy) Glover, Rev. Charlie Earl (Sherry) Glover and Eddie Foy Glover; several special cousins, other extended family and friends.
Active pallbearers will be Anthony Paul, David Hayes, Zachary Hayes, Justin Hayes, Rick Sormrude and Carl Holloway.
Bobby Goodwin will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
