Obituary:  Johnny Rudolph Meredith

 

              Johnny Rudolph Meredith, age 79, of Enterprise, AL passed peacefully on Monday, January 27, 2014 while at home with his family by his side.

 

            Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 30 at 2pm in the Chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Enterprise.  Burial will follow at Bethany Baptist Church in New Brockton with Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory of Enterprise directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.

 

            Rudolph was born July 20, 1934 in Enterprise to the late Votie and Lena Meredith.  He worked at General Telephone Electric for 30 years and served in the Alabama National Guard.  He was a devoted husband and father.

 

            In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Lewis Meredith, and his sister, Joanna Bradley Smith.

 

            Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Twila Meredith; 3 children: Johnny Ray Meredith (dear friend, Leslie Haynes), Lester Meredith (Amy), Kimberly Arnold (Ray); his granddaughters: Mandy Overton (Wes), Kristin Martin (Brandon); his grandson, Braxton Arnold; his great-grandchildren: Anthony Martin, Aiyana Martin, Marleigh Martin; his brothers: James Meredith (Ara D.), Melvin Meredith , John William Meredith (Kay), and Bobby Meredith (Lou Ellen); several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
