TUMBLETON COMMUNITY. . .Jolaine Shelley Masters, a resident of the Tumbleton Community of Henry County, died Wednesday afternoon, August 24, 2016, in Westside Terrace in Dothan. She was 89.


            Graveside services will be held at 4:00 P.M. Friday, August 26, 2016, in Gardens of Memory, between Headland & Dothan, with Reverend Larry Elliott officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.  The family will receive friends following the graveside services.


            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Tolbert Baptist Church, c/o Steve Parrish, 645 County Road 122, Headland, AL 36345.


            Mrs. Masters was born and reared in the Tumbleton Community, daughter of the late Otis Shelley and Ila Mathis Shelley. She was a graduate of Headland High School and attended Judson College where she was selected a beauty queen.  Mrs. Masters lived in Atlanta before returning to Henry County in 1968. She formerly owned and operated Jo’s Antiques in Tumbleton. Mrs. Masters was an active member of the Tolbert Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ferron Wendell Masters, and a brother, Bruce V. Shelley.


            Surviving relatives include three sons, Stephen W. Masters (Carol), Fredericksburg, VA; Timothy A. Masters (Livy), and Richard B. Masters, all of the Tumbleton Community; five grandchildren, Ryan Masters (Heather), Amanda Gray (Brad), Allison Kingston (Erick), Eve Thompson and Joseph Masters; eight great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Sue York Shelley, Tumbleton; and Virginia Starling, Abbeville.
