Jonathan Murray, a resident of Dale County, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2017. He was 32.

Graveside services will be held at 11 am on Monday, January 23, 2017 in Sunset Memorial Park with Rev. Jim Jines officiating. The family will receive friends in Sunset Memorial Park Pavilion from 10-11 am.

Jonathan was born on July 31, 1984 in Mobile, AL and lived there the early years of his life. He was a 2002 graduate of Northview High School. Jonathan attended Huntington College before joining the US Army and serving tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. He resided in Palm Springs, California prior to moving back to Dothan, AL in 2012. Jonathan was employed with TGI Fridays and Texas Road House.

Survivors include his mother, Debbie (Joseph) Smith; his father, David (Dorothy) Murray; his brother, Taylor Murray; his step-brothers, Jeff Smith, Justin (Jacquelyn) Smith, and James Johnston, Jr.; his step-sister, Meredith (David) Grisham; several nieces and nephews.
