Joseph Adams Hyatt


 


Joseph Adams Hyatt, a resident of Panama City Beach, FL, and a former resident of Dothan, went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 1, 2013, at his home. He was 72.


 


Graveside funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Sunday, February 3, 2013, at Memory Hill Cemetery with Rev. Wallace Russell officiating. Interment will follow with Byrd Funeral Home directing. The family requests the omission of flowers and suggests that memorials be sent to the American Heart Association.


 


Joe was born May 30, 1940 in Dothan, AL and graduated from Dothan High School in 1958. He graduated from the University of West Florida in 1970, and retired as an auditor with the Internal Revenue Service in Panama City. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, assigned to the U. S. Embassies in Saigon and New Delhi as a cryptologist. Joe enjoyed fishing and living near the water.


 


Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Willis and Mary Frances Hyatt and by a nephew, Todd England.


 


Survivors include his sister, Judy (Joe) England, of Newton, AL; a nephew, Chris (Elizabeth) England, and their children, Renee, Judith Marie, and Ann Elise England.


 


The family would like to thank his many friends in Panama City Beach, FL for their support, the medical staff who cared for him and the Bay County Sheriff’s Department.
