A celebration of Gene’s life, with military honors, will be held at 2 pm Saturday, April 8, 2023 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Stuart Tullis officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1-2 pm.
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Joseph Eugene “Gene” Little wish to announce his passing on Wednesday, March 29, 2023. He was 91 years young.
Gene was born on September 6, 1931 in Deerpark, Alabama to the late Thomas and Mattie Harper Little and lived there the early years of his life. He proudly served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. Following his military career, he would enjoy working as a Civil Engineer for more than 48 years. Gene was a devoted servant of the Lord and had a great love for his church family. He was a faithful member of the Panama City Beach Church of Christ for 56 years where he taught Bible Classes, preached, and served as an Elder for 17 years.
Gene is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Mattie Little, his loving wife of 66 years, Dora Little, by his brother, Thomas H. Little, Jr., and by his sister, Carolyn Smith.
Gene is survived by his three children, Wade (Linda) Little, Donna King, and Susan (Neal) Huggins; his nine grandchildren, Johnny Little, Summer Little, Jennifer (Craig) Hamilton, Katie (Gary) Kerr, Jake (April) Huggins, Abby (Micah) Legg, Karla (John) Griggs, Steven King, Matthew (Maria) King; his 24 great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.
