Joseph Harvey Precise, Sr.

Joseph Harvey Precise, Sr., a resident of Dothan, went home to be with our Lord on Friday, November 5, 2021. He was 77 years old.

A celebration of his life will be held at 2 pm on Monday, November 8, 2021 at Westgate Church of Christ with Pastor Chris Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday from 1-2 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Westgate Church of Christ, 619 Westgate Parkway, Dothan, AL 36303.

Joe was born on April 5, 1944 to the late Harvey A. Precise and Emma Roberts Precise in Pisgah, Alabama. He went to high school in Pisgah and attended Faulkner University. Joe was a District Manager for Barber's Dairy in Birmingham for 30 years. He went on to own 2 Dairy Queens in Prattville, AL. In his retirement, he had various other part-time jobs. Joe was a great handyman and spent a lot of time making woodwork and doing other major projects around the house. He was a gentle giant, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren. Joe was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ and was a member of Westgate Church of Christ.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Emma Roberts Precise, his sister, Betty Buchanan, and his son, Jody Precise.

Joe is survived by his wife, Linda Prescott Precise; his children, Jason Precise, John (Joy) Precise, Jennifer (Nick) Siwierka, and Corey Precise; his daughter-in-law, Hope Precise; his daughter-in-law, Margo Clay; his stepdaughter, Christy (Daryl) Hawk; his stepson, Paul (Kym) Clay; his sisters, Katy Law, Martha (Butch) Foster, Mary (Bobby) Lee, and Madge (Robert) Smith; his sister-in-law, Janet Taylor; his 9 grandchildren; his 10 great-grandchildren; and a multitude of friends.
