Joe was born in Houston County, Alabama on December 6, 1929 and lived in the Kinsey and Dothan area his whole life. He was employed with Ansell as a mechanic for over 20 years until his retirement in 1994. Mr. Berry enjoyed playing bluegrass music with a special friend, Wayne Taylor, of Elba, Alabama. In 1984, he played at the World Fair in New Orleans with his longtime friend, Doug Booth and at the Columbus Museum in Columbus, GA. Following his retirement, Joe loved to farm, and his pastime was restoring his classic John Deere tractor. Joe was a kid at heart, he loved camping, fishing, riding his motorcycle on Sunday afternoons and spending time with his family. If Joe Berry was your friend, you knew you had a friend you could count on; to know Joe was to love Joe.
