Josephine Spencer Kilpatrick, 88, a resident of Ashford, passed away at Southeast Health on Sunday, August 28, 2022. She was born on January 10, 1934, in Okaloosa, Florida to the late Henry W. Spencer, Jr., and Saphronnie (Holmes) Spencer.
Funeral Services will be 2PM, Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at Ward Wilson Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1 PM until service time, burial to follow at Ashford City Cemetery.
Josephine was a loving mother, grandmother, and a devoted Christian lady. She was a member of Grandview Baptist Church and spent many years at Bluff Springs Baptist Church. For several years Josephine was a Sunday School Teacher, worked in children’s church and sang in the choir. She enjoyed cooking for her many family gatherings. When time allowed, she enjoyed going fishing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Kilpatrick, Sr., brothers, Lonnie Spencer, Leavy Spencer, and Johnny Spencer, sister, Leila Carr, a stillborn son, David Kilpatrick, and a granddaughter, Mandae Sowell.
Survivors include her children, Fay (Keith) Vines, Betsy (Randy) Bass, Ed (Donna Kay) Kilpatrick, and Joseph D. Kilpatrick, eleven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, several nephews, nieces, and a host of loving family and friends. She also had two special friends, Tammy Faircloth, and Brad Knight.
Flowers are accepted or memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association or the Cancer Society.
The family will be gathering on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, from 5PM - 8PM at 2688 Enon Road Webb, AL.
