Joshua David Stephens, 10, of Panama City Beach, Florida passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at Bay Medical Center.


Funeral services will be 5 pm Monday, June 17, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home with Rev. David Linn, Rev. Coley Holloway and Rev. Scott Wyatt officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 3-5 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Allergy and Asthma Foundation of America, 8201 Corporate Drive, Suite 1000, Landover, MD 20785. A memorial service will be held in Panama City Beach at a later date.


Joshua had just completed the 3rd grade at Patronis Elementary School where he was a straight "A" student. He loved Karate and had recently been tested for his orange belt and passed all the requirements to receive it. He loved playing 2-square, X-Box 360 (especially Halo 3 and Minecraft), anything to do with the Army, he adored animals especially his bearded dragon, going to the beach and swimming, going to Shipwreck Island, and was a devout Auburn Football fan especially following the career of Cam Newton. Joshua was preceded in death by his pop Roy Hyde, and a cousin Shane Hyde.


Survivors include his mother Debbie Lynn Hyde-Stephens of Panama City Beach, FL; a sister Jodi Lynn Stephens of Panama City Beach, FL; a half-sister Lacey Stephens of Orlando, FL; his Mimi Sybil Stephens of Dothan, AL; his Gran-Gran Frances Hyde of Panama City Beach, FL; his grand-daddy David Stephens and his wife Maggie of Dothan, AL; his aunts, Shree Justo of Remlap, AL, Lisa Hyde-Bedsole of Dothan, AL, Beth Stephens Branch of Dothan, AL, and Shelia Hyde Goodwin of Holly Pond, AL; his uncles, Jeff Stephens of Dothan, AL, Steve Hyde and his wife Sonya of Oneonta, AL, and Mike Hyde and his wife Terry of Locust Fork, AL; his cousins, Samantha Justo Perez and her husband Ricky of Locust Fork, AL, Joey Justo of Locust Fork, AL, Hayden Bedsole of Dothan, AL, Madi Bedsole of Dothan, AL, Zach Hughes of Dothan, AL, Breanna Branch of Dothan, AL, Tucker Branch of Dothan, AL, Ashley Stephens Yohn and her husband Levi of Chipley, FL, Jerod Perez of Locust Fork, AL, Annalynn Yohn of Chipley, FL, and Nicholi Yohn of Chipley, FL; multiple great aunts and great uncles, cousins and friends also survive.


Serving as pallbearers will be Hayden Bedsole, Joey Justo, Zach Hughes, and Mike Bedsole.
