Joyce Ann Cook, a resident of Dothan, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at her residence. She was 66.
Funeral services will be held at 4 pm on Friday, March 24, 2017 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Phillip Durr and Rev. Ricky Plummer officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3-4 pm on Friday.
Mrs. Cook was born on March 3, 1951 in Dothan and lived here all of her life. She was a 1968 graduate of Dothan High School and attended Riley Business College. Mrs. Cook was employed with Spectra Care as an administrative assistant until she retired in 1997. She later worked with Summerwood Town House as a manager for the past 15 years until her recent illness. Mrs. Cook loved to read and work in the yard in her flower garden. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
Mrs. Cook was preceded in death by her brother, Donnie Turvin and by her parents, Limmie Gene Turvin and Janice Ann Paulk Sellers.
Survivors include her son, Gregory Ray Sellers; her daughter and son-in-law, Sonya (Jeff Harrison) Sellers; her grandchildren, Mya Fozard, Jake Sellers, Zach Fozard, and Christopher Fozard; her step-mother, Barbara Turvin; her brothers, Rodney Turvin, Michael Turvin, Tony Turvin, and Scott Turvin; her sisters, Pam Wright and Regina Turvin; several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express a special thank you to Alacare Hospice and Mrs. Cook’s nurse, Michael Shelley for all their love and support during their time of need.
