Joyce E. Hunninghake of Enterprise, Alabama, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 9, 2023, with loving family at her side. She was 74.

Funeral services will be Friday, March 17, 2023, 11:00 A.M. at Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 123 Heath Street, Enterprise, Alabama. Visitation will be held from 10:15 A.M. – 10:45 A.M. prior to service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 123 Heath, Enterprise, AL 36330. Burial will be at Fort Logan Memorial Cemetery in Denver, CO, at a future date.

Joyce was born October 12, 1948, in Axtell, Kansas, the daughter of Henry Joseph and Rachel Cecilia (Koehler) Hunninghake. The family moved to Denver, Colorado, in 1954, for her to attend Boettcher School for the Handicap. She graduated in 1967.

She accumulated many volunteer hours at Mercy Hospital and University of Colorado Medical Center Pharmacy where she worked for over 15 years. She belonged to many organizations for the handicapped. She enjoyed square dancing with the Colorado Wheelers and snow skiing, but most of all she loved to play Bingo at the many churches in Denver. Her greatest love was Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior. She faithfully listened to prayers and religious devotionals on CD’s and cassette tapes.

Survivors include her sisters, Donna (Jerry) Brecher, Enterprise, Al, Susan Craig, Aurora, CO; brothers Tim (Lori) Hunninghake, Owasso, OK, and Tom Hunninghake Owasso, OK; eight nieces and nephews; three great nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank her wonderful caregivers, staff, and friends at Enterprise Health and Rehabilitation Center where Joyce was a resident for many years. They would also like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Medical Center Enterprise for their kindness and caring during her final days.
