ABBEVILLE. . .Joyce Johnson Beck, a resident of Abbeville, died early Friday morning, October 1, 2021, in a Dothan hospital. She was 72.


   Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, October 3, 2021, in the Hickory Grove Free Will Baptist Cemetery with Reverend Terry Drinkwater officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside services. Social distancing guidelines and masks will be observed. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.


   Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to S.H.A.R.K., P.O. Box 126, Abbeville, AL 36310.


   Joyce Beck was born and reared in Abbeville, daughter of the late Tommy Paul Johnson and Mamie Dell Money Johnson. She formerly lived in Washington State but lived in Abbeville most of her lifetime. Joyce attended the Hickory Grove Free Will Baptist Church. She was employed by Money Motors as an Administrative Assistant. Joyce was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Baxter Beck, a daughter-in-law, Adria Arrant Dansby, a brother, Robert Thomas Johnson, and a sister, Mary Ann Money.


   Surviving relatives include her son, Stephen Dansby (Lynn), Headland; a brother-in-law, Hawley Money, Abbeville; a grandson, Colby J. Dansby; a step-grandson, Sterling Brooks; several nieces and a nephew.
