Juanita “Mollie” Hardin Collins passed away Saturday May 6, 2017 in Dothan, AL. Her parents were L.B. and Nettie Floyd Hardin. She was born in Robison County, North Carolina on November 26, 1921. She was a graduate of Orrum High School and went on to Woman’s College in Greensboro, NC. She taught and worked in Children’s Home in Barium Springs, NC for several years. She was a member of the Methodist Church teaching for over 40 years and held many church offices. Women’s work was very important to her. For 30 years she was active in the NC Garden Club.
Mrs. Collins was the widow of Charles Collins. She also was preceded in death by a brother Layton Hardin of Lumberton, NC and her grandson Charles Collins, III.
She is survived by one son, Charles E. Collins Jr. and his wife Debra; her grandsons, Carey Collins and Chanda and their children, Chloe and Chase; Larry Collins and Lindsey and their children, Parker and Taegan all of Dothan; one sister and her husband Gracie and Stacy Davis; one sister-in-law Ida Hardin of Lumberton, NC. Also special cousins Ida Pearl and Horace Sutton of Fairmont, NC.
Family will receive friends at Sunset Memorial Park on Thursday, May 11, 2017 from 5-7 pm with a closing prayer by Bro. Chad Hixson.
Memorial contributions will be accepted for Chestnut Street United Methodist Church.
